Someone from around here told us that Western North Carolina has almost exactly three months for each season. We'll have to see if that is true! It seems like fall is arriving. The evenings are cooler and the leaves have definitely begun to turn! We can't wait for them to change color. It must be so beautiful! For now, we are certainly seeing signs of fall. The squirrels are collecting acorns and doing what seems like target practice on us when we are outdoors. Ri was inspired to try using acorns as ammo for his marshmallow gun- thanks, squirrels! Not only do you have a party every night on the porch and leave a trail of poop for us to clean up every morning but now we have to watch out for Ri and his acorns! Another seasons story from a farmer is about katydids. When we start to hear them in the day, it will be exactly six weeks to the first frost! We have been warned! | |
