This weekend we spent some time going on the Asap farm tour.. This was an opportunity for us to explore this beautiful region some more as well as to visit and learn about the different kinds of farms around. We saw a variety of farms from what I think of as a traditional farm- pigs, sheep, chickens etc, to vegetable farms, a boutique chicken/turkey farm where the farmer explained how poultry is processed of as well as some unusual ones, like a llama and alpaca farm where you can also learn how to spin wool, weave and felt. We learned the difference between the two! We also visited a farm/bakery which specializes in making delicious brick oven pizza out in the middle of nowhere (if we didn't know it was there, we would never have thought it existed!). Aneka and Rigel had a mini-assignment to ask at least one good question to the farmers we met. I think we all learned a lot! Here are some pictures from the farms we visited.
