It was another beautiful day on the mountain. The birds were chirping and the ice was beginning to melt down the mountainside. All of a sudden a huge crashing sound startled the critters who had stayed around for winter. A big foot came down onto the leaves- actually there were six, big feet! Humans. Dad, Ri and I went hiking up the mountain for the third time, this time though we went up the road. The first couple times we were really close, but the mountain was getting dangerously steep, so we had to come back down. This time, we did it! It was a really nice hike and I even found a hiking stick on the way. When we got up to the top we could see Upper Pig Pen and the church along that road along with some other buildings we recognized. That was pretty exciting! Overall there and back took about three and a half hours! Now, lets see if we can beat that!

Great views without leafy trees! Ask dad about hiking through rhododendrons!
