We loved the fair as its always a fun, family thing to do! We especially enjoyed visiting the heritage section as we learned more about local arts and crafts. The quilts on display were remarkable- I am now so inspired to try making one myself! At the fair, we were invited to try our hand at wood turning. This was an awesome experience for all of us. The teachers, who all belonged to a wood turning club near Asheville, were very patient and encouraging. Look at how nice our masterpieces (spinning top, made by Aneka, wine bottle stopper made by Preeti, and honey droppers made by Grammy and Preeti) turned out! As Rigel put it: I can't believe I made that!! Another interesting experience for the kids was milking a cow! Here is a movie of our time at the North Carolina Mountain State Fair.
