| We went into Asheville to see a movie that several people we know around here have been talking about: The 100 Foot Journey. We loved the movie which is basically about an Indian family from Mumbai that moves to the South of France and opens an Indian restaurant right across from a French 1 Michelin star restaurant. The movie highlights what I consider the quirkiness of both Indian and French food cultures and has many hilarious moments which we all could relate too. Of course, after watching it, we were all starved for Indian food (none in Burnsville, except at home!). So we looked for an Indian restaurant- which only opened a couple of hours later! Aargh. Well, we decided to wait (and suffer through Ri's interminable "Is the restaurant open now?"). The wait was worth it, though, as the food at Chai Pani was delicious and pretty authentic! Oh, and we even found an Asian grocery store that sells some Indian spices! |
