We decided we needed to take advantage of the gorgeous weather we have been having here to explore the area! We were told of a storytelling center in nearby Tennessee, at Jonesborough, "Tennessee's oldest town". So off we went for a field trip! (This flexibility is the best aspect of our micro-school!). It is a well preserved, old town and the story telling center was interesting for us, as they had their teller-in-residence program on. A local artist/storyteller was the artist for the week, and told us stories of his childhood, as well as stories that he had heard through song and voice. But the best part of the day was the drive into and back home from Tennessee! Jim is always on the look out for the road less traveled, and we usually end up on one of those around here!
