| We went to the Energy Exchange and got to learn about how they use a landfill to make energy. We were told that they take methane out of the landfill and burn it to make energy that helps to heat the greenhouses there and the studios where some artists work. We saw the tubes through which they extract the methane gas on the hillside. We visited the greenhouses where we saw baby rhodadendrons planted. We were introduced to a pig, who was very friendly and wanted to play with us. We visited a potter's studio where the artist was making cool pottery- some of it was inspired by brains and she also had some cool light sculptures which were activated by light sensors. This is the same are where we had gone to see the solar eclipse with the local astronomy group back in October. |

Really neat! Hope we can visit, too, when we come South!
